2019 Tech course at Cambridge University, Cambridge, UK

The tech course taught the students about the scientific principles that are used in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and coding.

  • 9/10 August – Travel to Cambridge, England
  • 10 August - Tour Fitzwilliam Museum 
  • 11 August – Punting tour, guided walking tour of historic Cambridge venues, Official University and city tour including Kings College
  • 12 - 16 August – Attend Cambridge Tech course at Clare College and stayed in residences
  • 16 August – Travel to London
  • 17 August – Double decker bus tour, London Eye, Tate Modern, dinner with Dart University scholars, “School of Rock” on Broadway
  • 18 August – Tower of London and National Gallery 
  • 19 August - Imperial College Tour and London Science Museum

2018 Waste management and renewable energy facilities, Ontario, Canada

Touring the Durham-York Energy Centre and the remediated Keele Valley Landfill provided the Scholars an opportunity to learn about sustainable energy, landfill redevelopment and mitigation, and waste-to-energy technologies firsthand from industry experts.

  • 9 August - Durham York Energy Centre waste management facility, Darlington Nuclear Generating Station and Kortright Centre for Conservation
  • 10 August - Peel Integrated Waste Management Facility, Keele Valley Landfill, Canada's Wonderland theme park
  • 11 August - Redwing Culture & Nature Discovery Walk, Sidewalk Labs  (an Alphabet/Google company), Toronto Island Park, CN Tower
  • 12 August – Return to Cayman 

2017 Oxford Scholastica Academy, Oxford, UK

The Oxford Scholastica Academy offers academic summer programs for 12-18 year olds. Students experience University life by staying on campus, taking courses and exploring career options. 

  • 14/15 July – Travel to Oxford, England
  • 16-29 July – Attend Oxford Scholastica Academy  
  • 30 July – Return to Grand Cayman

2016 SuperCamp, Stanford University, California, U.S.A.

SuperCamp is a college prep course that provides students with tools and an awareness of what it takes for successful transition from high school to university.  Students engage in a journey of self-discovery while further developing their leadership, confidence and study strategies to prepare them for future success as independent learners. By spending a week living on campus, Scholars gain an understanding of what they can expect as they begin their tertiary education journey.

  • 28 July – Travel to Stanford, California
  • 29 July – 7 August – Attend SuperCamp 
  • 8 August – Return to Grand Cayman

2015 CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva, Switzerland 

CERN is a European research organization that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. CERN's main function is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure needed for high-energy physics research. 

29/30 July – Travel to Geneva, Switzerland

  • 31 July – Tour CERN and overview of internship programme
  • 1 Aug – Walking tour of the United Nations and Les Fêtes de Genève (Geneva’s most popular festival)
  • 2 Aug - International Red Cross Museum and depart for London
  • 3 Aug – Sightseeing in London, dinner with Dart University Scholar 
  • 4 Aug - Imperial College London tour and London Science Museum
  • 5 Aug – Return to Grand Cayman 

2014 Dart Neuroscience Facility, California, USA  

Dart NeuroScience was a pharmaceutical company based in San Diego that researched methods to improve memory function. The facility closed in 2017.

  • 29 July – San Diego Zoo
  • 30 July - Dart Neuroscience Centre Tour and lunch meeting with team of international scientists
  • 31 July - Personal Guided Tour of San Diego State University and Seaworld
  • 1 August – Fleet Science Center and San Diego Padres baseball game
