dart scholar Emma Turnbull

Emma Turnbull

2014 High School Scholar
Cayman Prep and High School

Emma graduated with honours and distinction from Cayman Prep and High School in 2016 and has kept up her hard work through her A-level studies. In her first year of the two-year programme, Emma earned A's in Maths, Biology and Chemistry.

Over the past year, Emma’s career interests have shifted toward medicine. Work experience at Health City Cayman Islands and at the Health Services Authority allowed her to spend time in the hospital laboratory, shadowing health services professionals — and this has focused her interest in medicine and her commitment to her studies.

Emma spent the summer with other Dart Scholars at Oxford University in England where she participated in the Young Doctors’ Academy. She also took the opportunity to scout potential UK-based universities.

An accomplished competitive squash player, Emma is a member of the Cayman Islands national squash team and represents Cayman at overseas competitions. Most recently Emma placed second overall in both the Under 17 and Under 19 divisions at the 2017 EFG Bank Junior Squash Championships and was invited to the Canadian Open Squash Championship in December 2017.
