2017 William A. Dart Memorial
University Scholar

Columbia University, USA
Class of 2021

Dominic recently completed his A levels at Cayman Prep and High School where he was an active member of the Student Council, serving as president in his last year; he was deputy head boy, leading a team of prefects and managing school assemblies; and was house captain during his last two years.

A gifted athlete, Dominic won gold and bronze medals at the 2017 CARIFTA Games for his performance in the 5000-metre and 1500-metre events respectively. This accomplishment, in addition to Dominic's participation and sportsmanship in intramural sporting activities, laid the foundation for his being recognised as Cayman Prep and High School's 2017 Athlete of the year.

In his free time, Dominic volunteers for Race Caribbean and assists with the administration of long-distance race events held in Grand Cayman. He also enjoys donating time to Cayman’s ARK and the 345 Athletic Club. This past summer, in addition to travelling abroad to represent the Cayman Islands at track and field events, Dominic also visited New Zealand with his family.

Dominic is currently studying economics in one of the world’s best programmes at Columbia University and is a proud member of the Columbia Lions track and field team. He quickly made his mark, earning a top 50 place at the Ivy League Championships and seventh among his Columbia teammates.
